About Paralinks: WheelChair Nation:

WheelChair Nation "Because no one should cope with a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) alone" was originally created in 2005 by Silas S. Slade with the intentions of providing the SCI community with a place to find free informative resources of information & a place for Spinal Cord Injured individuals to interact & share their experiences through community forums.  Silas S. Slade a C3/6 Quadriplegic since 1999 per a driving accident, has an Associates of Arts in Health Administration.

Gary Schooley paralyzed for over 30 years is the founder of  Paralinks: The Electronic Directory for People with Spinal Cord Injuries.  Gary Schooley had been running  Paralinks for 9 or 10 years. Due to health issues, the lack of time & the need to spend his time on other projects, the time had arrived for  Gary Schooley to roll away and turn his position over to a younger more energetic person with a personal relationship with SCI.

In March of 2008 Silas S. Slade answered Gary Schooley call with enthusiasm & experience so they agreed to incorporate their web-sites to better serve the Spinal Cord Injury community. Their ideas & their goals fitted each others sites seamlessly, so it was only natural for them to combine sites & proceed using the name “Paralinks: WheelChair Nation”.

Leslie Johnson, a columnist for Paralinks: WheelChair Nation has been in a wheelchair since the age of sixteen paralyzed from the neck down. Leslie who has a Associates in Criminal Justice & a Bachelors of Social Work, writes the Bi-Monthly column:  'Dad On Wheels'.

Please visit  Paralinks: WheelChair Nation's  Discussion Forums &  Paralinks: WheelChair Nation's  MySpace  & Facebook Pages because adjusting to a spinal cord injury can be less frightening in the company of others who have gone through the ordeal & can share their experiences.

If you know of any encouraging SCI news, stories, websites or just something worth mentioning, drop us a line & we'll Post It. Visit regularly for updated resources, new features, links & more. Please note that only quality SCI websites and related resources of information are listed here. No spam, promotions or pop-up advertisements will ever be posted on Paralinks: WheelChair Nation.
