Hannah from Loam Hill

A paralyzed woman's story

A new novel, based on the life of my paraplegic aunt who was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. Due to a life threatening blood-poisoning disease in 1938, she had extensive surgery and six months of rehabilitation in Louisville, KY. She rode back home on an  L&N freight car, sitting in her high back, brown wicker wheelchair. Regardless of her daily challenges, she fought to make a life for herself.
