Benefits For Children With Disabilities - This booklet is for the parents, caregivers or representatives of children under age 18 who have disabilities that might make them eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments. It is also for adults who became disabled in childhood and who might be entitled to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits.

Repair and Rehabilitation Grant  -  A grant is available to dwelling owner/occupant who is 62 years of age or older. Funds may only be used for repairs or improvements to remove health and safety hazards, or to complete repairs to make the dwelling accessible for household members with disabilities.

Special Needs Trust Administration Manual  -  In clear and easy to understand language, the authors explain how a trustee can use trust funds to meet the financial needs of a person with disabilities and still comply with the complex rules of government benefit programs. The Special Needs Trust Administration Manual covers many topics, including what trustees need to know about public benefit programs such as SSI, SSDI, Medicare, and Medicaid; taxes and Special Needs Trusts; payment of recreation, transportation, and medical costs; housing subsidies; and trustee duties.

Spinal Injury Foundation Community Programs - Smith Fund  -  Every year the Spinal Injury Foundation sets aside a number of $1,000 grants for injured people who need a helping hand.

The Abilities Fund  -  Services are designed specifically for individuals with disabilities interested in business ownership and the organizations that serve them.

The Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation  -  Their goal is to find a cure for paralysis through funding the latest in medical research and to provide assistance to those that suffer from neurological disorders. A $1000 to $2000 scholarship shall be awarded to two to three individuals with neurological disabilities, or the child of that person, for post high school education.

The Foundation Center User Aid for Individuals with Disabilities  -  If you are an individual with a physical or other disability, and you are looking for information on grants specifically for those with disabilities, this user aid will help you in your search.

The Lang Foundation  -  Established in 1989, the nonprofit foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life of those suffering Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), by providing new PC systems and adaptive peripherals to needy SCI individuals.

The Ray Tye Medical Aid Foundation  -  The Ray Tye Medical Foundation is a 501c3 organization utilizing 100% of their funding to directly serve injured or ill individuals nationally and internationally that have no other source for the significant medical care that they need.

Ticket to Work Program - The Ticket to Work and Work Incentive Improvement Act was enacted on December 17, 1999. This law included several important new incentives and opportunities for successful work experiences for people who receive Social Security disability benefits who want to go to work.

Travis Roy Foundation  -  Their individual grant funds have been used to modify vans and to purchase wheelchairs, computers, ramps, shower chairs, and other adaptive equipment to help paraplegics and quadriplegics live their lives.

Wounded Warrior Project  -  The WWP provides vital assistance to severely injured service members at the critical time between their hospital recovery and their transition to civilian life back home.
